Communication Workshop entitled "Modal Bicara Karier Mengudara" with Mr. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.I.Kom (TI ITB '88), Organized by Ditlumnier ITB at RuKA ITB

Today I attended a Communication Workshop entitled  "Modal Bicara Karier Mengudara" with Mr. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.I.Kom (TI ITB '88), organized by Ditlumnier ITB at RuKA ITB. He gave materials about how to build proper communication practices in professional settings, on a career ladder, and in daily life.

He said that to achieve a successful career and life, we must build a support system, because we can't achieve it alone. The support system is formed by our "recruitment" of our alliance, companions, and circle, which will help and give total support to us to achieve those goals, purpose, and destination. To recruit our "alliance", we need proper and suitable communication with a sense of likeability and sympathy in our alliance and circle's minds, feelings, and behavior. To build a proper and suitable communication, we need to design it before its implementation.

He talked about the "Why", "How", and "What" preparation for a proper communication practice that was very useful and practical to be implemented in our professional career setting and daily life. The Why of the communication is to make a "difference" and "change" in our alliance's feelings, minds, decisions, and behaviors, so we can achieve our targets and goals through their involvement in them. He gave an example about how to change our alliance's current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors/decisions to be the expected thoughts, feelings, and behaviors/decisions based on our interest and hope with the role of communication. To achieve the Why, we must implement the How of the communication, which consists of body language, gesture, eye contact, and voice/vocal, also the What of the communication that we must use the communication media and tools with an attention to the technical details in forming the messages, both in verbal communication and written communication.

I want to share some documentation of this event, including the RuKA ITB (Rumah Kolaborasi Alumni ITB)'s photos, which is a new place and facilitation from Ditlumnier ITB, with the funding of alumni, for ITB Alumni access to make their events and gatherings there, and by the way, this was my first time visiting it. Here they are, enjoy!
